Engineers Log Stardate 42031.6, Myself and Ensign Robinson are departing on our new mission, assisting the crews of the USS Limburgia and USS Caledonia as Mission Specialists. Our objective is to search for the home territory of the invading force, and assess their tactical situation, before advising Starfleet to send a diplomatic, or a defensive force to greet them. The recent attack on Starbase 49, has been considered an act of war against the United Federation of Planets and although Starfleet prefers a diplomatic solution, we must be prepared to go to war if the need arises.
*Crewman Kynes and Ensign Robinson meet in Transporter Room 5, just having left the second, and final pre-mission briefing. They are each carrying a cylindrical travel case, along with several padds. They are also carrying type two "dustbuster" phasers, along with TR-560 tricorders.*
You got everything Sir? Then let us depart.
Crewman, transport the Ensign to the Limburgia first, then myself to the Caledonia.
*Ensign Robinson dematerialises in the shower of the transporter beam, followed by several seconds later, Crewman Kynes.*

Caledonia to Limburgia: Clear to depart. Upon clearing the debris field, commence search pattern Sierra 1. I will brief the senior staff here with everything we have. We need to keep regular contact up between ourselfs and Lt. Rockape to keep as updated as possible on any developments. Kynes out.

Acting Chief Tactical Officers log, Stardate 42031.8, I'm onboard the U.S.S Caledonia, assisting mission R-8261, which has been dubbed "The Search" by several crewmen back home. I am hopeful that we find the race that attacked the Starbase, so as to negotiate a lasting peace, between the Federation and themselves. Although, if they are not to co-operate, the modifications i have made to the weapons systems of both ships, should prove immensly helpful.
On a less business side, I must say, that living on a lovely new Starbase for so long, does tend to detract from how not advanced the rest of the fleet is in this sector! Furthermore, it is nice to have my own spot on the bridge, as opposed to being 3 levels away, communicating with Talis when need be, or fighting some suicide mission abourd my fighter. This... is nice, they even have centeral heating up here!
In anycase, there is a briefing in 20 minutes, so im going to get a Hydro-shower, then beam over to the Limburgia for this briefing, with Acting Ensign Kynes. Computer, End log.

Caledonia to Limburgia: Upon reaching the target coordinates, and satisfaction on sensor functionality, separate formation so we can cover the largest amount of area in the shortest time. Be sure to visit the potential subspace tunnel candidates 23 mk 165 mk 47 and 28 mk 140 mk 52 early on - plan your search pattern accordingly.

Well, field promotion to acting officer aboard the Caledonia. As soon as I complete this mission, I am back down again to Crewman. This new pip is soooo shiney though... ;D

If you want, just call me 'Mission Specialist Kynes', or better yet, 'Crewman'. :D
Also, I'm not keen on a promotion to officer. This site needs some enlisted crew past crewmen.
<OOC> BTW, I thought Acting rank was the same as a field promo, but looking back to early TNG eps, I see I am wrong. :-[

Its odd, you seem to be stuck at Crewman Recruit, even though you have enough posts for Petty officer...
Are you saying, that as opposed to a commisioned rank, youd rather a NCO, like Chief or such likes? (i no chief is a long way off, just an example. I also know this isnt my site. Just asking
)

The ranks increase if the minimum amount of posts are reached, and the minimum time period has passed. Also this site needs more (any) NCOs higher than Crewman Recruit, and Crewman Apprentice. I would love to be the first. (Going for MCPOSF...
)

Anyhoo, back to the mission.
Caledonia to Limburgia: Finish final phase of sector search, and rendevous at coordinates 45 mk 212 mk 188 at 0745 hours.
Caledonia to SB49: Lt. Rockape, how is the science department coming along with our sensor analysis? What was the outcome of the telemetry from the probes sent through the anomolies? Are they possible entry points for an invasion force? We are moving to rendezvouz with the Limburgia at 0745, and are about to commence exploration in the direction of the Klendathu nebula. Keep us updated.

and i have Pissed off CArdassians they have a fleet of 650 waiting at bajora to attack i made it through due to me cloak although if you have noticed my ship is holding togther by just spit and my shields are down so the frequency is no use to you but if you attack i will atack but you wouldnt fight me alone would ya i was sent here to tell you about the CArdassians

Maintain active yellow alert, power up the shields. I want current sensor scans routed to my station. Access the subspace network and get me a list of Starfleet vessel movements in this and surrounding sectors. I want to know if the Kalour is here to help, or here to slice holes in us.

OOC: Zach, sorry man, its just that Holodecks are meant to reflect reality, so i boosted to tactical officer (since its just above me), and Kynes boosted to specialist. I just got a tad pissed when an Ensign, of Strat Ops leaps the gap of 10 years (at least) to the rank of Captian.....

Gentlemen, I suggest we move towards the nebula and meet up with the T'Kumbra and Soval and push forward in exploration. We will assume a (very) loose delta formation to maximise scanning range, distance 0.1LY apart, speed warp seven.

Yup, onboard the Caledonia. I'm currently sitting at Mission Ops on the Bridge, drinking a Raktajino and going over sensor data with the Second Officer and the Science Officer.
