I adored "Star Trek: The Next Generation - Future's Past" on the SNES, it had everything I wanted in a NG game, battles, away teams (just send Data lol), puzzles. I hope it's re-released onto the Gameboy Advance. 8)
SNES? that game had to come out in the real early 90's. I still have mine, but I dont have the TNG game. I bet it pretty awesome. Can you explain more about it. I'm going to look for it and potentially buy it.

It was released in 1995, here is an url where there are two screenshots from the game: http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/snes01/01/startrek.html It's been a long time since I played this game so I'm relying on memory: it had battles with the Romulans mainly, it also had random scenarios (sometimes in the middle of a battle) where there was some sort of Engineering problem & you had to re-route power or something, you also had the chance to choose who went onto the away team which you controled, with the team you solved puzzles or looked for missing people/items, either as a whole group or individually (there was one part where imo the best away team member was Data & Data alone) you also fought aliens, animals etc on occasions during the away missions, sometimes choosing the correct away team members for their abilities was vital on certain planets. You could visit Starbases to make quicker repairs of the Enterprise. ;D You do all of this & more via the bridge. There's also: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/data/9369.html which has game guides & reviews,
I bet you that if I try to find it that it will be very expensive since I'm pretty sure not so many were made. Just trying to find it will be difficult to.

I would think that the only places you might find a copy is either on eBay or via stores which sell pre-owned games; of the two I'd say eBay is the best bet. I would expect that it will be expensive, there is a non Trek game (Castlevania-Symphony of the Night) which sells on eBay for well over £80, and that's without the collectors' artwork booklet and sometimes without the audio CD as well.
I think that come to about $75 USD. That's a lot of money for an old game.
£1.00 GBP is roughly equal to $1.90 USD, so that Castlevania game would cost about $152 USD approx. Hopefully the Trek game will cost significantly less.
Indeed, having seen this topic some time ago, also possesing the super nintendo entertainment system, i purchased it, for the grand old sum of 50p. (thats like, what, 25US cents?) got it home, put it in (click, clonk) and i can deliever this report:
My SNES is broken.
fear not gallant freinds, i saw another one, for £2 earlier....

i know this is a old post but....you can download a game emulator and then download a version of the sttng game your talking about here for it...i dont know if any of you know about this or if no one supports the downloading of movies shows or games , but if anyone wants to know more about dl'ing a emulator or any games for them, drop me a line on the personal message front...
I am happy to report that I do indeed have an SNES console, and that I do indeed have the game as well. I don't know how many countless hours I spent on that thing, but I'd get up and start playing, look up at the time, and find out it was two in the morning. It was just that good of a game. :) I love Futures Past!
Another good, mildly more accessable old ST game would be the 25th anniversary edition made for PC. It's freeware now, so look it up. I find it funny cuz a red shirt dies in each episode in true trek fashion. lol.
I loved that game. One of the first levels I intentionally performed an action that made a Redshirt sacrifice himself for Cap'n Kirk. The 'Redshirt bites the dust music' was well worth it. ;D Got stuck on the Masada level for ages, then one day figured out the exact order of clicking and finished the game shortly after that.

Sounds a bit like A Final Unity for the PC gameplay wise. That was my absolute favorite. Never had a SNES or any other game-console.

WOW! That games looks awesome! I'm going to have to look for it at the old game stores. It's like a mini-RPG type game. A definite buy for me.

I'm stuck on the starbase right now. Masada was tough, but nothing like the starbase. None of the moves make any sense to me. hah.
