OCC:  I'm adding characters, changing bios.  I know this isn't accurate, I just always liked taking two series, and putting them together.  Oh yeah, for those of you who end up being the bad guys, don't worry about it, it's just the way the story worked out, nothing personal.  lol.

Chapter 1

The following takes place between 12 am and 1 am

r

Location:  Cardassia Prime

Victor Rovner was a changed man, in the most literal sense.  Once he was a human, living aboard starships and serving as many do.  Then he was accepted into Section 31, and all that changed for him.  Now he looked like a Cardassian, living and breathing on Cardassia, eating on Cardassia, he might as well have been Cardassian by birth.
On average, when these thoughts ran through his head, he found them disturbing, but they were the least of his problems today.  Ducking into a small apartment building, he went straight down the hall and into his room, where he bolted the door and told the computer not to let anyone in.  He picked up a briefcase and opened it, there lied the last remains of his Starfleet self, a small computer that was not linked into Cardassia's monitoring systems.  He opened it.
      "Password?"
Victor racked his brain for a moment, and then cleared his throat.  "Victor Rovner, CTI-0051"
A moment passed, "You're cleared, transmit your data."
As he pushed in the isoliniar chip, there was a pounding at the door.  "IN THE NAME OF CARDASSIA, OPEN THIS DOOR!"  Victor could hear the guards begin manually opening the door.  Ignoring this, he turned back to the computer and made sure that the data went through alright.  Behind him, the door swung open, and the Cardassians poured in.

Kent Taylor's Quarters

Kent sat there at his computer, looking over a speech.  Already, he had been up nearly a full twenty four hours.  His eyes were tired, and he knew that he couldn't look at that computer screen any more.
"Aren't you coming to bed hun?"
The commander turned around to find Sherry Taylor, his wife, staring lovingly at him.  Kent smiled and got up from his chair.  "That sounds like a good idea, but I was hoping that I could see Kieth and Nicole when they returned."
Sherry flicked back some of her hair, "They're still at your promotion party Kent.  They called and said that they would help clean up."
Kent nodded, "Well, maybe it would be good to get some sleep.

Ashley Robinson's Quarters

His daughter was winning!  For a minute, he found his mind racing as to what he had failed to do right.  There was the time when his queen was taken, but alas, that was only one isolated incident out of many in this game.  He felt rather guilty that he was actually happy when he saw his daughters eyes droop, as if this was a way to keep his honor.  "You better go to bed sweety, it's 12 am."
Kimberly looked back and him and smiled sweetly.  "Yeah dad, maybe you're right.  At least you're fun."
"Well I didn't make Lieutenant Commander for making mistakes ya know.  And I would appreciate it if you didn't talk about your mother like that."
"Tell that to your chess game,"  now she was teasing him.
"Yeah yeah, just go to bed."  He chuckled under his breath, god it was good to see her again.
Her lips went solemn, but she stood there proud.  "I'm glad your back daddy."  She walked back over and gave her father a kiss before retiring to her room.
Ashley sighed and took a last look at the chess board before going into the small dining area, where his wife sat, looking over some interiors of the space station.  He kissed her on the forehead, and she looked over at him with a smile, but a small reservation in her looks which made him a little uncomfortable.  She looked back at her work as she spoke to him.  "I don't know how you do it Ashley.  I've tried everything, and I just can't seem to get the same kind of relationship with Kimberly as you do."
Ashley smiled and began rubbing his wifes shoulders.  "There's no real secret to it."
"Yeah well I think that she blames me for your leaving Ashley.  She has always been closer to you, but recently it has been like she doesn't even see me.  And just for example, I heard her over there bad mouthing me, as if I intentionally never do anything with her."
Ashley became defensive, "And I busted her for it too."
"Well...I don't know, I don't like her undermining my authority, we should talk to her sometime about it."
Ashley shrugged, "Why not right now?"
Teri was startled by his willingness, but it was a reminder why she let him back into her life.  She smiled, "You would do that?"
They walked over to Kimberly's room, holding each other tight.  Teri smiled and kissed him lightly, "I really appreciate this."
Ashley was back into the teasing mood.  "Do you?  Do you really really appreciate this?"  She laughed, and knocked on Kim's door.
"Kim?  Open up, we'd like to speak with you for a moment."
There was no answer, so Ashley tried, "Kim, open this door up babe, you mom and I have things to discuss."  Still no answer, the parents traded looks.  "Computer, command override of first bedroom door in my quarters.  Command override code SC113-1842 WAH."  The computer beeped and the door slid open.  "Computer, lights?"

Teri's heart sank, she was nowhere to be found.  Immediately she grabbed for the drawers, pulling out everything until she came across a small blue and silver device.  Suddenly her fears were pushed aside by a great rush of anger.  "Someone gave her a personal transport device to sneak out tonight!"
Ashley, who had been looking through a small datapad that had been lying on Kims bed, already knew what had happened.  He nodded and went back to reading.  The PADD was an address book, but there were too many names to have a single one seem suspicious.  His commbadge beeped and he tapped it.  "This is Ashley, what is it?"
A familiar voice came through.  "This is Athena.  We need you in Operations right away."  Teri heard it, and she looked up suprised.
Ashley growled under his breath, "Can this wait?  I'm kind of having problems right now Councilor."
"No can do.  An admiral from Starbase 37 came here specifically to gather all command staff together.   His name is Admiral Richard Walsh."
"I know the name."  He gave in, cursing himself for doing so.  "Look, I'll be there  soon, Ashley out."
Teri was at his side, feeling helpless and very alone.  "Do you really have to go?"
Ashley nodded, "Admiral Walsh heads up Starfleets Counter-terrorist institute or CTI out of Starbase 37.  If he's here you can bet that it'll be bad.  Don't worry though, I should be home soon, normally these things are for attacks in the distant future."
      Teri, still unsure, nodded.

12:06
The Shuttle Columbia's Tears sped at Warp two toward Nobus three, a nearby planet where her date resided.  Janet York sat sat in the pilots seat, a cadet in Starfleet, excelling in starship piloting.  Her fingers worked nimbly as Kim dolled herself up for the party they were headed to.
Acquiring the ship had been easy enough.  The dock master had known her since she first came to Starbase49, and it didn't take much convincing for him to let them slip out.
"So tell me about this friend of yours Janet."  Kim giggled as she made sure her   breasts showed sufficiently.
"Well I meant Dan at a Cadet graduation party that I went to.  We traded pass codes, and so he caught me on my viewer and set this up.  I don't know much about your date, I think he called him Rick or something."
Having sufficiently dolled herself up, Kim smiled and leaned back.

12:09-Operations, Starbase 49.

The turbolift doors parted and in stepped Ashley.  He looked around and found that all the chief officers had come except for Kent.  Someone tapped him on the shoulder and he turned.  It was Athena Zoden, who looked beautiful as when he had dated her, but much more solemn.  "I'm sorry Ashley, I wish this were just another false alarm, but I think that this one is serious.  He left no room for speculation."
Ashley nodded, "He left no room for speculation, and yet Kent isn't here.  I want you to get all the information on Kent that you can."
Athena cocked her head to the side, "Do what Ashley?"
Ashley frowned, "Don't spread any rumors, but I think that this whole thing may be involving Kent.  I'm not sure why, but between the fact that it's happening on the day of his promotion to Captain, plus the fact that he hasn't shown up and his room is closer than mine, makes me suspect."
Understanding, Athena nodded and walked off to relay the orders to Adam and Jon Von Veen.

"What did your stooge say?"  Adam scratched at his scar, oddly feeling a burning sensation within him.
Athena frowned, "Oh stop it!  He's your boss for crying out loud!"
"Only by a week Athena, and quite frankly, that doesn't account for much."
"Well nonetheless, he wants you to look up information on the proceedings of today's events, and any background info we're allowed to have on Kent."
Adam raised an eyebrow, "On Kent?  Why the hell would we want that?"
Athena frowned again, "I don't know, something about Walsh and him.  He thinks his coming here may be directly related to the events today."
"Well I'll get right on it, but he had better be right because I really don't like breaching the Commanders privacy."
Athena walked on, meeting up with a crewmember she only knew as Administrator.  "Excuse me, can you get any and all records of in and out conversations from Kent's room?  Subjects only, we don't want to go into any details right now."
Administrator looked at Athena and scowled, "I can, but on who's authority.  I don't think the councilor has the right."
"On the authority of Lieutenant Commander Ashley Robinson."
For a moment, the cocky woman stood still, and then she shrugged, "Why not?"  Turning around, she went to work.

Ashley was at a wall monitor, looking into Teri's eyes.  "Teri, something big is up, I might be a little later than we expected."
      "But you promised me Ashley!"
"I know hun, but this is a matter of station security, and I want to keep you safe."
"What about your daughter?"  Teri was angry.
"She's prolly at a party, she'll come back, and then we'll take appropriate action against her."
"Well I sure as hell hope you're right, Teri out."  The viewscreen went blank.

Replicator Store

The shuttle had practically landed in the back yard of the store.  Luckily it was a fairly remote area, and anyone who had been near, had been asleep when they went down.  Kim and Janet opened the hatch and stepped out, Kim making a final check of herself.

The boys were both nineteen or twenty, making them a little older than Kim.  At 16, the first thing she felt was an initial nervouness that swept over her.  However, Janet simply ran forward and leapt on her friend Dan.  Dan laughed, holding her tight and kissing her above the eye.  "What's up Janet, long time no see!"  Janet just laughed and began kissing him.  Dan turned back to Kim.  "Come on in dude, the party is just about to start!"  Dan and Janet left Kim alone with her own date, a brown haired boy, who smiled at her as he inhaled from a joint.
Kim giggled to herself, "Well well, you must be Rick."
Rick smiled and stood up, "Must be.  And you must be Kim?"
She nodded, "What is that you're smoking?  I thought that that stuff was gotten rid of a long time ago."
He laughed, "Naw, this stuff is from a Bolian who passed through the system a while back.  Most species have quit, but there's a few of us who know how to party."
She batted her eyes and giggled, "Oh really?"
He just smiled and took another drag.  Reaching down, he picked up a couple large bottles of a blue liquid that was so potent it had been unlegalized for centuries.  "Really baby."
She took one of the bottles of Romulan ale and a smile came over her face.  They walked into the store.

12:14

"Are you sure the sensors are working?"  Ashley felt his face flush.
"Yes sir, just as good as ever.  I'm afraid that she isn't even on the station anymore.  I'll take a look at the shuttle logs though, but I doubt they'll tell us where they actually went."  It was Verhiz Zecks, a weapons specialist on board the station.
"I agree, my daughter isn't stupid enough not to give a false destination, but I want to know how the hell she got a shuttle, and where the hell she learned how to pilot one."
"She must have friends in starfleet."
Ashley nodded to himself, "Alright, well get back to me if you find out anything.  Ashley out."
The turbolift had already opened, and Admiral Walsh stepped in.  Everyone went to attention, including Lieutenant Commander Robinson.  Walsh nodded grimley, "At ease."  He moved over to Ashley, "How are you Lieutenant Commander?"
Ashley let a smile come out, "I'm well Welsh, it's good to see you.
J.A. Kynes, who had been hiding in the background, stepped forward, "It's good to see you know my Chief of Security Admiral, but may I ask where my superior officer is?"
Welsh nodded, "Yes sir, he is not to be bothered until this problem is solved."
Kynes's head bobbed to the side in confusion, while Ashley frowned.  He hated it when he was right.  Kynes sighed, "May I ask why sir?"
Welsh nodded, "For the next 24 hours, we are going to be on alert for an assassination plot against Commander Taylor."
The entire operations room seemed to gasp in unison.  Ashley stepped forward, "What are we doing about it currently sir?  I'll have some of my best officers down there."
"That's alright Mr. Robinson, I brought a few special forces groups with me, they'll be taking over control of his security.  Our job is to keep him alive as well, but by finding out who is going to kill the Commander."
Ashley nodded, and Welsh moved in close, "Now without further ado, I need to talk to you Ashley."
Admiral Welsh led Ashley into a nearby ready room.  He stood there for a moment, and then turned around.  "What I'm about to tell you doesn't leave this room Ashley, because I'll be damned if I know who to trust anymore."
Ashley nodded and sat down, "We've known each other for years Rick, ever since you picked me up from the Cardassian prison camp."
The Admiral rubbed his eyes, "Ashley, I think there's a mole in Starfleet that has been undermining our efforts to keep the Captain safe."
Ashley furrowed his brow, "How deep does it go?"
"Deep enough that they're able to expose our agents.  There was one man I have been in contact with, going by the name of Victor Rovner.  At 12:00 exactly, we lost contact with him.  The last thing we heard was his name being called out as the door opened.  Now we had been suspecting foul play, but the fact that they knew his name proved it to us.  Now we need to find out who it was."
Ashley nodded, "And you suspect that it's someone here."
"Of course.  Victor was safe and without suspicion up until we put him on this case."
"Alright, well I have to get out there before they begin suspecting something."
      The Admiral nodded, "Very well."

12:22- Transport Balkins

The Klingon sat brooding, looking at the chronomoter on the wall.  Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a frail federation device and activated it.  A moment later, Salikar, a Vulcan science officer popped up on his screen.  "Yes?  Identify yourself."
The Klingon didn't like being talked to like that, but he swollowed his pride for just that one moment.  "I am Belkin of Lar'at, Kolorths brother!  I am here to document Kent's acceptance ceremony."
"Oh yes, I know your name, Kynes told you to speak to me.  There has been a change of plans.  Things have come up that make it difficult for you to see the Commander."
Belkin growled, "What do you mean?"
Salikar didn't allow him to be intimidating.  "You may not be able to see him for a couple of hours, but we're working on getting you a special allowance."
Belkin leaned toward the screen angrilly, "Be sure that it is not turned down Vulcan!"  He cut the channel.
A woman, human, bent toward the large Klingon, "Excuse me, but I couldn't help overhearing, you know Kent Taylor?"
Belkin looked over with an impassive glance, "What is it to you?"
"I am a friend of his from a long time ago, but I'm working for the press to, hired by Bolia actually."
Belkin looked over, "You do not look Blue woman."
"I know, but they thought that a friend of his might get in closer than a regular reporter.  I'm Mandy by the way."
"I am Belkin of Lar'at, brother to Ko'lorth.  I wished this assignment to see my brother again."
      Mandy smiled, "Well hello Belkin."

12:24-Operations

Ashley looked at the files that Adam and the Administrator girl had cooked up for him.  There was nothing too spectacular that stood out, except that Kent had once been suspected of being an agent of Section 31.  Those charges had been dropped however.
Someone tapped him on the shoulder, making him turn around.  Athena was red in the face, "Ashley, did I just hear that Kynes called a meeting between you and him, and nobody else?"
Ashley frowned, "Yeah, it's going to happen in about five minutes."
"Why aren't we in on this?"
"Why I don't know Athena, you better go ask your commanding officer."  despite the fact that he liked her, her persistence was getting on his nerves.
"Well I don't know what it is Ashley, but dammit, I don't like this!  You're holding back from me, and I know it."  With that she left.
Ashley's viewscreen beeped, and he activated it.  "Chief of Security."
"It's Teri, I found a flask of Romulan ale stowed away with her clean clothes."
"Romulan Ale?  Well at least our little girl has taste."
      "Ashley!  I'm being serious!"
"Sorry hunny, it's just a real bad time.  I have a meeting with my commanding officer in about three minutes.  If it means something...I would much rather be with you."
There was a silence at the other end of the phone, "I know...and I guess I expected times like these when I married a Starfleet officer.  Look, I'm sorry to have called at a bad time Ashley, I'm just starting to get worried.  Do you think we should send her to see Lieutenant Commander Zoden?"
"It's a possibility hun, now I've gotta go, I'll talk to you after the meeting, alright?"
Teri looked at her screen longingly, "Alright, I'll see you later then."
His heart seemed to break when he turned off the screen and went back to work, but he pushed it aside.

Replicator Shop

Kim had let her hair down a long time ago, she had become clay for Rick to mold.  "So uh, tell me about yourself Kim."
Kim laughed, "What's there to tell?"
"I dunno, what do you like to do?"
Kim giggled, "This Rick.  That station...it's so boring."
Rick nodded and took another shot of the blue ale.  "Well at least you have good taste.  What about your parents?  You're father some big hotshot in Starfleet?"  He gave her a drunken grin.
Kim had become devious.  In all this time, he had not touched her, and she didn't like that.  "My father is dead Rick."
      Rick's smile turned into a slack jaw.  "Oh..I...I'm sorry.  I didn't know."
Kim shook her head, "No, it's alright, it was when I was young.  He went off to some Cardassian prison camp and..."  she sighed.
Rick felt sympathy, and put his arm around her.  Underneath her hair, she smiled.

12:28-Operations

Adam watched as Ashley meandered over to the Captains room, where Commander Kynes had set up his secret meeting.  Athena was nearby, so Adam decided to take a stroll.  "So Athena, do you know something I don't?"
Athena looked over, "What does that mean Adam?"
"I mean that you and Ashley used to have a thing, and I want to know if it has helped you get any information from him."
Athena felt the urge to slap him.  "No it hasn't Adam, now get out of my face."
Adam growled under his breath and walked away.

Adam Ristau
Lieutenant Commander

Ashley walked into the office and looked at Kynes.  "You wanted me commander?"
Kynes looked back and smiled, "Yes Lieutenant, I have some information for you to lead up on.  We believe that the group that wishes the demise of Commander Taylor is going to arrive via a transport arriving at the station.  I've already got the Administrator working out the files on the transports that are arriving."
Ashley raised an eyebrow, "How do you know this?  If the Admiral had, we would have already been on it."
Kynes laughed, "I don't answer to you Ashley, my sources are to remain a secret.  That's what my superiors say."
Ashley nodded, "Well perhaps you can ask your superiors to grant clearance for me?"
      Kynes nodded, "Alright, will do."
Ashley felt a chill in his spine as he looked at Kynes.  They word traitor kept running through his head.  Still, he smiled and left as Kynes walked over to the Captains computer.

In Operations, all eyes turned to him, but he was intent on other business.  He made a quick jog over to Administrator.  "I need a personal communicator, patch it into the Captain's Room."
"Is that legal Lieutenant Commander?"  Administrator raised an eyebrow.
"Who gives a shit, it might save alot of lives."
With that Administrator opened up a cabinet nearby and took out a communicator and fidgeted with it.  In a moment, she had calibrated it.  "Alright, here you are sir.
Ashley put it up to his ear and heard a Klingon Opera blaring.  He frowned, and Athena saw this.  She walked over to him, "What's going on Ashley?"
Ashley put a hand up, Kynes was saying something, "Yeah yeah yeah Robinson, I'm getting clearance for your overconfident ass."  He laughed.
That was his ticket, Ashley dropped the communicator on the nearest station and moved over to his own station.  The cabnet there was stocked with type 2 phasers.  He knelt down and grabbed one, Athena's eyes were widening.  "What the hell are you doing Ashley?"
"As a friend Athena, I ask you to shut your mouth right now, I'm trying to recalibrate this thing."  He set it for medium stun and grabbed a PADD that was nearby, concealing his weapon behind it.  Athena tried to follow him, but was stopped by one of the Ensigns who was doing a diagnostic on the Main Core.

Kynes saw the doors open and Ashley stepped in.  He put on a smile, "Well you have nothing to worry about Ashley, I just placed a request that..."
The door shut, and Ashley dropped his PADD.  Before Kynes had time to react, Ashley had hit him full in the chest.  The Commander was out.
Ashley checked his pulse the old fashioned way when the door opened again.  Athena stepped in and her jaw dropped, "Ashley...what the hell do you think you're doing here!"
"He's hiding something from me Athena, I need to know if he's telling the truth."
"And this is supposed to help you?"  Perhaps their beloved Chief of security had cracked??
"No, but when he wakes up I plan to have proof that he put Phillip Darcet in a minimum security prison so that he could escape.  I need you to look into his money transactions during that time, do you think you can do it?"
"No, but Adam might have access to that kind of file.  I need to know though, what the hell do you expect to get out of this?"
"Either proof that he's innocent, or proof that he's guilty so that I can either use it against him, or just go to my own brig.  That's all you need to know Athena."
Athena straightened, but didn't say anything, "I'll do it, but you better be damned sure about this."  She exited.

Adam was looking up information on Kent still, but there wasn't much more he could get.  A hand was placed on his shoulder, "I have a new job for you Adam."
Adam looked up, "Let me guess, it's not a job for you, but a job for your boyfriend Mr. Robinson?"
Athena growled on the inside, "I'm your commanding officer Adam!  Dammit, you can test me outside of the Operations room, but not in here, do you understand me?"
Adam sighed, "Yeah, sorry.  What is it?"
"I need you to hack into Kynes account, see if any large latinum transferrers happened about four months ago."
Adam turned back to his commanding officer, "What the hell are you saying?  That's confidential information, I can't do that, not without really good evidence that Kynes is doing something."
Athena sighed and ran fingers through her hair.  "That's exactly how I feel, but it's on his head, we're just following orders."
Adam sighed, "Fine, if only to get that cocky bastard in trouble."
"Just do your work Lieutenant Commander."

12:36- Ashley's Quarters.

Teri had long since given up.  She sat at her table, sleeping peacefully, when the viewer began to beep.  Slowly she came around, letting out a moan and hitting the activate button.  "Yes?"
"Hello, my name is Verhiz Zecks, I believe your daughter and one of our pilots are missing?"
Her heart lept, "Have you found her?"
"No, but I think we can help each other.  I tracked down a missing officer, a Janice York.  She's a friend of mine and uh...if she doesn't get her butt back up here she's going to be in deep shit with administration.  Your husband called me, and I've put two and two together and came up with the possibility that the two of them went someplace."
Teri nodded, "Well I'll help in any way possible, what do you want me to do?"
"Does your daughter have a message system separate from your own ma'am?"
"Yes...but we gave her a password, and only she knows it."
"Well then talk to Ashley, I'm sure he has an override."
"I highly doubt it, security doesn't have that kind of access."
"Hmm...well still, talk to your husband, he'll find a way.  He's an Operations officer for crying out loud."  Verhiz laughed.  "Alright, I'll get back to you when I know more."

12:40

Teri nodded at the viewer, "Any ideas Ashley?"
Ashley shook his head, "I'll have our communications decipher it, but I doubt she's going to be too happy."
"Well too bad, I'm sorry, but our girl has gone missing, I think it's worth the trouble."
The Security officer nodded, "Alright, I'll do it.  Tell Verhiz Zecks I said thanks.  Ashley out."
He closed the channel and made a beeline to Administrator, who was sitting at her desk looking over incoming messages.  "What is it Ashley?"  She already knew who was behind her.
"I need you to hack something for me?"
"Okay, but I need a PADD signed by Kynes."
Ashley sighed, "I need this done now Administrator, it's a very personal matter to me."
For once, Administrator let her guard down, a small smile creeping through, "Is it that important."  Ashley nodded, and Administrator turned back, "You didn't see me do this, who's accound to you want cracked?"
     "Kimberly Robinson's."
Administrator nodded, not seeming surprised at this event.  "Alright, give me a minute to bypass the security blockouts."

Ashley felt crushed by what he had found out.  He opened the channel to Teri.  "Hey baby, I have the password."
"That's great, tell the Communications officer I said thanks.  What is it?"
      "Life Sucks, all caps."
"Oh great, just what I wanted my daughter to have for a password.  Gotta admit, I would have never guessed.  I'm going to type this in now, so I'll talk to you later."
      The channel was cut.

12:43-Transport Balkins

Belkin of Lar'at smiled at the woman beside him.  "So tell me, what was your impression of the Klingon order when you visited?"
The woman smiled, "Well I really liked it you see," she leaned over and teased, "I have a thing for powerful men."
Belkin's smile grew wider, and his hand went to the womans hand, grasping it firmly.  "So you like the powerful?  You are in luck human."  He expected her to cringe, but she only smiled, causing his heart to quicken.

12:45-Kent's Quarters

There was a beeping that woke him up.  Kent arose, allowing his wife to sleep peacefully.  He opened the channel.  "Sorry to wake you Kent."
It was a reporter he had known since grade school, "It's alright, but I hope that this isn't for an interview."  He smiled, but when she remained stoic, his smile faltered.

A few minutes later, and he was standing at a window, grinding his teeth as he thought about what that woman and so called friend had just told him.
His wife stirred and looked over in a half sleep haze, "Why are you up Kent, you haven't slept in hours."
"I'm afraid I'm not going to be sleeping for a few more Sherry."
Sherry found this answer alarming, and propped herself up on her elbows.  "What?"
"It's...it's nothing, I'm sure...I just need to be alone for a little bit."  He walked out of the room.

12:46-Captain's Ready Room

Ashley sat across from the cold form of Kynes, letting time pass.  The door behind him opened, and in walked Athena.  "I have the information.  We were able to link Kynes to many of the missing funds in Phillipe Darcet's account.  What do we do now?"
"We wake him up."  Ashley walked over, and began slapping Kynes easily.  Slowly, the Commander began to come around.
His eyes opened, and the memories came flooding back, "What the hell was that for!"  He began to stand up, but Ashley pushed him back down.

Lieutenant Commander
Chief Operations Officer, Starbase 49

Ashley looked at Kynes, who looked back with fire in his eyes.  "About three months ago, CTI was investigating you for the missing funds in Phillipe Darcets latinum account.  They couldn't prove it then, but I just did.  Now you have two choices, tell me your source, or be confined to the brig for being a crooked, payed off Starfleet officer.  All I have to do is hit my commbadge."
"You would never do that you bastard."
"You have three seconds Kynes."  He stared straight back without blinking.  "Two...one..."
"Fine!  It's was Daimon Tog, why the hell do you need to know?"
"That's classified Commander."  Secretly, a wave of relief hit Ashley, who now knew that he had no reason to suspect the commander for being treacherous to the Federation.
Kynes growled, "I'll get you for this one day Ashley, be assured about that!"  Kynes limped out, heading for sickbay.

12:52-Transport Balkins

Belkin smiled and growled contentedly under his breath.  "Where in Sto'Vo'Kor was it that I was going to get this lucky human?"
Mandy smiled and rubbed his bare body, "It didn't, but I've always said that defying the gods gives life a little rush."  She laughed, and so did Belkin.  Mandy stood up and began to dress again, still feeling loose from their recent encounter.  It was so unfortunate that this Klingon seemed to like to scratch during sex, for it would have been a good relationship otherwise.  "I'll see you later Belkin, follow me out in a minute."
Mandy was out, and within another minute, so was Balkin.

Mandy had very little time now, Balkin would suspect in a short while.  She pulled out Balkins Klingon Press Pass and tucked it into her shirt.  Now it was time to go to the Airlock, but first thing was first.  A stewardess stood near the Cargo transporter, fixing her hair to go back out into public.  She noticed Mandy roaming, "Excuse me ma'am, but you'll have to..."
Mandy didn't take time to listen.  A hypospray fell out of her shirt sleeve and she used it on the woman.  Then she went to the cargo transport and beamed in all of her materials.  There is was, in a bulky crate, her ticket out of here.  She began to put on her space suit, making sure that the bulkhead doors were closed and fused shut.

The Klingon cursed under his breath as he got back up from his seat.  "This is odd, but I have misplaced my ID, I must go back to your rest room and find it."
A woman with Federation transport colors smiled at him, "I'm sorry sir, but we need everyone seated for now.  Perhaps we can help you look after we land?"
The Klingon grumbled a curse, but accepted the deal.

Time was running out.  The suit was on, and the charges were planted around the airlock door.  Now it was onto the true bomb.
Tucked inside of a fire suppression unit, was a small tricobalt device that had been smuggled into the Federation from their employer.  She strapped it to the wall and sat down, prepared for the door charges to blow apart first.

The Klingon had one name racing through his mind.  Mandy...the woman of his dreams...was nowhere to be found.  A chill ran down his spine, a warriors sixth sense.  Something was going to happen, and he already knew they were too late to do anything.

The air lock door blew up, and there was a sudden head rush as Mandy was blown out the door.  Seconds later, the Air lock was filled with a second fireball, that was hot enough to melt the doors, both passenger sections went next, and then the whole ship just disappeared in the explosion.  Mandy watched with a satisfied expression, and waited to be picked up.

12:57-Operations

There was that same beeping sound at Ashley's computer.  "Yes?"
"It's Teri, I'm on a shuttle bound for Nobus Three."
"Why the hell are you doing that Teri?"
"Kimberly received a call from Cadet Janet York to meet her in the shuttlebay.  They're at a party at a replicator shop there.  We should be back in a couple of hours."
      "Is Zecks with you?"
"Right here Ashley, I'll take good care of her."
From his side, Adam called out to him, "Ashley!  We need you over here immediately!  Salikar has a problem."
"I have to go, I'll talk to you when you find her.  Bye."  He shut off the monitor and moved quickly to the Science station.  "What is it?"
"I'm having the Chief Engineer check out our sensor grid sir, but we have just lost contact with the incoming Balkin Transport."
Ashley felt a lump in his throat.

Meanwhile at the Replicator Store

The party was done, and everyone was thouroughly drunk.  Kim supported herself in the arms of Rick, while Janet used Dan.  Dan looked at everyone like a proud parent of the party.  "Well lets not let the night be over so soon everyone, there's a party at a friend of mines place, you remember Ashley Rick?"
Kim looked up and smiled, "That was my dad's name!"
"Was?"  Said Janet.  "Oh whatever, I'm game."
      Rick nodded, "You coming Kim?"

Kim looked a little startled, "Well, I actually need to get back to the starbase.  My parents will be suspecting something if I'm not there in the morning, and I need to sneak in while they're asleep or working."
Rick shrugged, "Well tell you what, we'll swing by the Starbase and let you off.  Janet wants to go, so there won't be anyone to pilot the shuttle."
Kim nodded, "Alright, sounds good."  Somewhere inside, her gut twisted.

The transport was small and cramped, a very old model, but otherwise well kept.  Kim went in and the ramp was lifted up.  An airtight seal was confirmed, and Dan lifted off with Janet in the co-pilots seat.  Kim was preoccupied with her new boyfriends lips, rolling her own over them as if trying to claim her rights to the land.  Her fears had dissipated into not much more than a tingling at the back of her mind.  Janet rolled her head over and looked at Dan.  "So where's this party at?"
"On the moon dude,"  Dan looked over at Janet with a smile and then back at his controls.
Kim lifted her head, "But isn't the moon in the opposite direction of the starbase?  I really need to get home."
Dan laughed, "Dude, stop spoiling the mood man, it'll all be alright, your parents ain't going to get too pissed at ya."
Kim forgot about Rick and sat up, "Dan, I need to get home, you don't get it, my mom is one hell of a stickler about this kind of thing!"
Dan felt a burning in the back of his mind, "Hey, sit back Kim!  You aren't going home so get used to the idea!
On his sensors, he detected Teri's ship, but neither one of them knew about the other, so they passed by without worry.
Kim sat back, and Rick tried to get her attention, but the only thing on her mind now was escape.  The shiver came back...

The End.
