NEW MOVIE-AS OF YET UNNAMED
The new Star Trek movie comes out in 2008, featuring Kirk and Spock in their younger days at the Acadamy. This features new casting members, and an entirely separate plot from the storylines of the TV series. This should be interesting.

Regardless, its crap. And something like star trek, thats had 28 Seasons, 10 movies, countless video games, and countless books, will NEVER die! ST is hardly a fad.

Well personally, I don't think it'll work at all...but it'll draw crowds because of the whole Kirk Spock thing. I'm just phyched that it took them so little time to think of the next step for Trek. I just hope it isn't a complete disaster.

haha, are you always this optimistic? lol Actually I agree with what you say. It's not going to be too good, I wanna see how they'll pull this off. I mean lets look at it this way.
1) it's a prequil. They never do well. You're right.
2)They tried to sell Wesley Crusher as a cadet, people don't like cadets. He had the lowest rating outta all of them....

Measley Cruncher was great as a cadet. It meant that he was away at the academy and we didn't have to see him on the Enterprise-D much. ;D

Lol, most people who voted in that poll just got annoyed, because Crusher was flying a Galaxy class ship at the age of 15, while the voters where jealous steel plant workers making $2 an hour.

This just in. I've heard word that the Kirk backstory might have been a rumor, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. The story I heard was that it hasn't really had a plot yet, but they haven't asked Patrick Stewart to reprise his role yet. So I don't know.

I guess that we've got alot of major actors being auditioned for it, plus a high budget. Still needs a good script, but dang, I am impressed with what they're trying to do.
