Poor Apollo

Adam Ristau
Lieutenant Commander
Chief Operations Officer, Starbase 49

In "Who Mourns for Adonnallies" (did I spell it right?)  I didn't really know who was the bad guy.  Apollo was just going by the nature of what he religiously believed about humans, however he kidnapped the Enterprise as well.  I don't know I just guess that they should have looked for a better way out...but then you'd have people as boring as Sherlock Holmes on sedatives for an episode, not a good seller for Desilu.

 Talis
Lieutenant Commander

No, I don't think it is spelt right but please don't ask me how you DO spell it.
Great use of religiously!  Yeah, Apollo wasn't so bad, in fact he was rather joviel till Kirk ordered the scientist gal to break his heart, and then I think he had a right to get pissed.  And he was the last of his kind as well.. I really think UFP needed to sort its policies out on dealing with those cases.
I think Kirk likes to blow up Gods, maybe because he has a slight ego problem.  Remember when he thought he WAS a God?  Didn't take a whole lot of convincing did he?

Adam Ristau
Lieutenant Commander
Chief Operations Officer, Starbase 49

Too true, maybe Kirk is really sadistic and wanted the girl...+ an explosion or two in the meantime.   ;D No, I do feel sorry for him, he had no reason to suspect that human nature had completely changed, look at us for ex.  we're the dwindling group of Trekkies getting smaller by the year.   :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(  Too bad.

 Talis
Lieutenant Commander

Did anybody notice Gene Rodenberrys hand in that eppisode?  His one and only appearance in Trek.

Keegan Logan
Lieutenant
Assistant Chief Engineering Officer, Starbase 49

when did kirk think he was a God? i don't remember that, and yes i did know that that was gene rodenberry's only appearance.

 Talis
Lieutenant Commander

Kirk got amnesia whilst on a planet filled with American Indians.  Some big breasted woman told him he was a God and he took her literally Wink

Keegan Logan
Lieutenant
Assistant Chief Engineering Officer, Starbase 49

did i need to know about the big part? NO! (sorry about that... you'll remember that i'm 13 right?)

 Talis
Lieutenant Commander

Sorry, but it's the truth!

Keegan Logan
Lieutenant
Assistant Chief Engineering Officer, Starbase 49

i know that the truth will set you free but right now there's nothing to set me free from!

Kent Taylor
Captain
Commanding Officer, Starbase 49

That is funny ;D, when Matt(may I call you Matt)said did I need to know about the BIG,LMAO, but he is right I really didn't know you were 13 cause of the way you word things.... :-X :Smile

Who Mourns For Adonalies

 Ramos

You also have to remember that Kirk is so used to being a soldier that he often forgets he was trained as a diplomat aswell, besides what better to put on a resume then the destruction of a greek god?

Kent Taylor
Captain
Commanding Officer, Starbase 49

HO, I didn't read the books because they were so different from the series and I guess I'm just a lazy reader  :o

Who Mourns Adonis was one of those episodes that I didn't watch very often. Always managed to catch it at the tail end. That's just my luck, I guess. LOL

I've always liked that episode. I'm not sure why, but it caught my attention.

Kent Taylor

Commanding Officer, Starbase 49

knowing Q. at first Apollo seemed to have powers of the Gods, and it could have been, but then Kirk found out his powers came from his Temple, thus no Q at all.
