I just finished reading a snippet of an interview with Joann Blalok and she stated that she thinks this season will be the final season for Enterprise.
Partly I don't want to believe it because the show seems to be hitting a stride now.
What do you all think? Do you think this will be Enterprise' last season or not and why?

I leaning towards that ending is a reall possibility because ratings have been pretty dismal for a Star Trek show. If there was TSTN (The Star Trek Network ;D) I think ratings would do a lot better.

Well, I know the chances of a ST network are about slim to none. If demand were higher then maybe but there just isn't the call for it like in the old days. LOL.
It still has it's die hard fans, and I do count myself among them but there are alot of people who liked it at one time and no longer seem interested in the franchise as a whole. Which is a shame cause IMO each peice of the franchise did and does have alot to offer.

I agree with you to the wholest exent. Myself, I loved ST: ENT from the beginning, but as time moved on, the show never caught my attention to keep me watching it like any of the other shows. I tihnk it lost it's magic touch.

I had high hopes for this show. I liked the first ep alot. But as I've said before my favourites have been the augments eps. The stories were great and Brent Spiner did fantastic. But it's like Voyager with me, if I miss an ep it's not a big deal. Except the Augments ones. I fought not to miss an ep. And it didn't disappoint. IMO.

As a matter of fact, I never saw the 1st episode. Pity me. As for another show, I saw something on TV about a spinoff of ST-TOS. I'm not sure what network, but I'l look for it again.

I think the spin-off was just a On-air rumor on tv. I haven't heard or seen anything of it since.

Well, we know how they love spreading the rumours about trek and any spinoffs or motion pictures.

I think I know of something like 300,000,000 or so rumors around the world about ST. Ok, I might have been over exaggerating.

But probably not by much. LOLOLOL

I sure hope Enterprise will have better ratings and such next season. It would be sad to see it crumble more next year.

Well, from what I can tell. The ratings are going up and the views and trekkers seem to be more satisfied. It all seems to be attributed to Manny Coto being brought on. I know I can see the difference. The show is much better and the stories are much more interesting. Plus they are sticking to alot of know things and exploring what should be explored. I see it around for the full 7 years.

Why would it have to be a full 7? If they do better couldn't they stick around longer?
413 posts
I suppose. But the tend to stick to just seven and then end it.

Ok, OK. But i'm optimistic.

That's ok. Be optimistic. But don't get too disappointed if it stops after seven. I'll just be glad if they make it to seven since it has been a struggle from the beginning.

I'm not going to be disappointed because I know that all TV shows must come to an end. Although I wish all Star Trek shows didnt.

Ratings may be down this year... but you can't compare the ratings of Enterprise this year to the ratings of Enterprise last year, they are on different nights. Friday is traditionally UPN's worst night rating wise. And although the ratings for Enterprise are slightly less then they were last year for Enterprise, they are over tripple what the ratings for Friday Night have been for the last 6 years straight. That's got to count for something. It's all about the ratings, ratings indicate how much money the network can get selling advertising. When the ratings are up, the advertisers pay more. Advertising income on Friday Night slots have been dismal for UPN. People have got to notice a tripple ratings value and start wanting to buy new slots.
Also, Enterprise has a much happier fan base this year then previous years. Season 4 definately seems to be their year. I really enjoy the stories this year, and although I'm one of those people who have liked Enterprise from the beginning, it is so nice to see stories that are really engaging and exciting me.
