I did love the show. The reason I feel it did not last, as it did not have more women. There was T'pol and Hoshi, but it was for better or worse just the two. Wish they did work more with each other, but when they did it look like well a contest. How they had to show themselves with arms to the back, chest out ... it was sad. First off T'pol is going to win every time if we are talking about the breasts. Second, it was some reason a little sad.
Look if it was T'Pol vs Seven fine, you can get a number of males to watch the show. But it is also not that fun to watch if you are a woman seeing woman being in pitch battles like that. Even if they did have to talk with each other, it was well boring what they did have to say and did not help. Glad they did have Hoshi on the show, but they need more woman to have a balance. If you only have two, yes your going to have to pick who is better looking, who is ect ..
If they are ever going to have a new startrek show, have around 40% of the people on the show be women. If you only have two woman on the show, in the end its woman vs woman and that is so boring as hell for woman to see week after week.

But then again, TNG featured three woman in its first season, and it didn't get good ratings. Agreed, women give alot to the show, but I can't say that the show was based upon women. The only problem I see with the Enterprise show is that it didn't have enough color. I mean, look at the statistics.
Star Trek TOS-Colorful, but not exactly the most eyecatching colors. Lasts three seasons.
Star Trek TNG- Very Colorful, has the best sci-fi ratings ever, lasts seven seasons.
Star Trek DS9- Colorful beginning, ratings were high. Then they got rid of the color in the uniforms and such, but the station is still painted with greens and reds throughout, which gave the series color. Ratings were much lower than TNG however.
Star Trek Voyager- Probably the most colorful of them all. Ratings were just as high as TNG, and the ratings never really faltered, they just ran out of stories to tell.
Star Trek Enterprise- Almost all the sets are gloomy dark places, their uniforms were unattractive, and nothing on the show caught peoples eye. They had good scripts, but alot of Trekkies still said no, why?
ANSWER-Because color attracts a veiwers eye origionally. When you're flipping through the channels, don't you stop at something that features color, or do you investigate the b&w movies?
That's what I think at least, I know that was my origional attraction to the series, (I was introduced to it when I was still learning how to read ;))
Really, I don't think women have anything to do with it, but maybe I'm wrong. I dunno.

Ya Enterprise did not have much color. In fact it look like they needed to save money on lights. It was very dark on the ship, some times it was almost black. The uniforms suck, it had to suck when everyone was joking how dull they were. They look like flight uniforms for combat pilots.
t'Pol did have the best uniform on, but it was a skin tight uniform and poor Hoshi she look like she was in the military flight school. The uniform was way to military, as the other startrek uniforms look nice a cute.
True, even with the other shows of Voyager the Woman other than seven and Janeway were in dull uniforms. Look at Torris she is nice but any time you can see she is a woman, its that black uniform with a black background or it was not so clear.
As a woman I have to say this, but other than T'Pol or 7. It looked like they wanted to make sure the women did not show their bust. When Troi was with Crusher, she had to have that strange coat on not to show her bust. But its ok to see as much of Troi as we can look down that shirt. When Torris was with 7, Torries was in a fog or so black on black you cannot tell what is going on.
True, when Hoshi and T'Pol were with each other it was not that bad. With that shot with T'pol and Hoshi in that de-bug unit a few times it did look some what strange. Do not get me wrong, its ok to show the bust even when its covered up but that shot it was strange.
If it is a shot with woman, it should be in natural light and natural standing. Think the only reason why men like to talk about the bust of 7 and T'pol all the time. As the other women are not or should not show much over it on TV.

Another thing, when they first introduce Hoshi in the first episode, her and Archer seem to be on easy terms with each other. Then look at Fight or Flight. She only addresses him as captain, all friendship between the two seems to have been put aside. I think that the Enterprise could have done more with the Hoshi Archer relationship, (though I am in no way talking a sexual one, simply a friendship like Dax and Sisko.) I really do think that the women got serious screwed on their parts, and they could have done much more.

Hoshi was fine, but her job got very boring. She was fine, but how much air time can you give to someone that works the communication. Anyway, whenshe had to do some work, its like sure the people that are shooting at you are going to say hi were going to shoot at you. What about we come over and say around 1330 hours we take a pot shot at your ship.
T'pol had more air time than Hoshi. But T'pol having to deal with Trip and his personal problems was not even fit for a Vulcan. T'pol was ok but Spock was more fun to be with. Spock had that dry Vulcan hummor with him. T'pol just had the boobs. lets put it this way, if I was going to have a beer with T'Pol or Spock, it has to be Spock. Spock can eat with his fingers, T'pol never give her a bread stick.
Spock could well try to win a fight when it came to combat with the Enterprize. T'pol oh gee lets just have the ship be shot up with huge phaser damage.
Think the crew on the ship could never win a ship phaser fight. Think of it, the ship could not even win a fight against oh Nelixs little ship.
Any way back to the girls. T'pol was fine, Hoshi was fine, but it was like can they really work as a team?

Point taken, I'd have to agree with you at that.
