In my opinion, Star Trek IV, was the best
Kent, as I say again, please excuse me with my absent minded responses.
Really what rule?
In Instructions, I also saw Star Trek V the other day, I forgot how good it is.
Ohhhh. You mean the "No making things unless you own the copyright" rule
[quote author=Xoah12 link=1103686450/45#50 date=1105655358]We should get together (all of us) and sell them at this site.
Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this website.
This rule.
oh, that burst that bubble
I didn't mean it to be mean, I'm just trying to post some good stuff that people can read when they come to the site and possebly stay and post like you do..
Thanks Kent for clearing that up.
Thanks Steve, Really I want this site to GO, if we can get into the site and do good it will prosper, we have fun here talking about Star Trek and stuff, I'm a real Star Trek fan and this site is the best I've found, I can help and thats what I'm doing... at least trying-LOL
aren't we all doing that
I think we all are doing our part. I know I'm trying. Haven't written much in regards to my char, but the news has been keeping me busy. I guess I have to remedy the Char thing. Eventually. I'll have to make a priority of it. But we all are doing great keeping the site going.
It's going to have it's slow times, all groups and sites do. But they are only temporary and posting will increase. There is so much yet to be tapped into and discussed. Plus don't forget there are the news topics that can start some nice interesting discussions. The site will endure, of that I have no doubt.
The Captain has created a good formula here.
Insurrection was good
Insurrection was awesome, but I was bothered by it. Now how could you live on a planet filled with water, and live there for 400 years, and not be able to swim? This really botherd me because it would seem like common sense for someone to swim on a planet filled with water. If anyone can add, please do.
mabye they never figured it out or thought they would drown
My personal favorite film is Star Trek 3: The search for Spock. They really made the actors put forth their best in that film and Nimoy really showed off his directing skills.
Star Trek III was great. Espscially the bar scene. LOLOL
Na. I prefered First Contact
any reason why????
I think that the even number movies were the best. III, Inserrection, Generations were all ok. One was just bad. Same with V*. Over all my favorite was First Contact. Followed by II.
*OPPS
OH Comon. Why dont you like one
I liked the story of the first movie, but it was just a bit too slow and the uniforms looked bad. The soundtrack was superb by the way!
Amen. it was a little slow. The acting was a little bad at times.
The first movie was just a rip from 2001: a space odyssey...
And I don't know if you meant number IV in your last post up top K'Ratak but four is an even numbered movie lol....and if you meant V....SYBOK RULED.
I couldn't help but notice your pain...
My pain?
IT RUNS DEEP SHARE IT WITH ME!!!
Sorry, my brain thinks faster than i can type somethimes.

Gotta love them error links, but yes mistakes do happen.

I took an error link and wound up here. Probably one of the best mistakes ever made
voyage home and first contact
Go First Contact!!!!!
I'm finding it depends on my mood which i like the best. I think of the original cast movies it's number 6 for the newer ones I think First Contact as well. But in general I liked them all.
I was never a big fan of TOS, thus I don't like the movies as much as I liked TNG movies. The SFX and the whole time travel thing, really caught my attention
Oh........and the borg
???
First Contact, because it was just AWESOME, and Star Trek VI, because that was a good allegory for the U.S. and Russia.
Mine it's a toss up. I love all the even numbered ones. If I had to choose a favourite, I think it would be Star Trek VI. The story just sucked you in and you just couldn't get enough of it. The intrigue, the anger. It was amazing. I loved it. But like I said, it would still be a tough choice, because each movie had their stellar moments.
I like Star Trek V.
That one is not one of my favourites. But it's ok.
Why is it "ok"?
I just had a hard time getting into the 5th movie. but I felt that way about the 1st, 3rd and 7th also. It felt almost too preachy to me.
Seems like all Star Trek movies are a little preachy in some way.
Yeah. But this one seemed to be in your face with it. But that's just my opinion.
More that I think about it, it was pretty in your face. But, that's not saying it was a bad movie. It's a GREAT movie. Please, "SAVE THE WHALES", if you want me to be preachy. LOL
Well, I know. But I guess the humor in the 4th one overshadowed that a bit. I liked the 6th one alot. also the 2nd one. Wasn't crazy about Generations. But liked those after that.
If the Star Trek movies were bad, I'd say Generations was the bad one. That movie didn't click with me at all even though I'm not sure why.
It didn't with me either. I think it's because in my way of thinking the characters were all unrecognizable. They were just not what I remembered. So I couldn't get into it.
I got in to it real good, because the TNG crew was in it, the first movie with them in it, It had to be that way so the baton could be passed to the TNG crew. It was the first TNG made for the BIG screen not TV,it would BE different...
Voyage Home had alot of funny moments in it, and I also really liked Generations...I don't know, I just liked seeing both crews in one movie. But my favorite was First Contact, the whole movie was just so good...
I forgot about First Contact it was really good too.
but then I like all the Borg episodes.
Oh, I didn't forget First Contact. I loved that one. I loved every TNG movie with the exception of Generations. I just couldn't get into it. I know I sound like a broken record, but the Chars were just unrecognizable to me. Even Kirk. The only ones that were really good in that one were Chekov and Scotty. But that is just my opinion.
Here's Generations again, LOLOLOL
LOL Kent.
I COMPLETELY dissagree with you Athena. Generations Was GREAT. Especially Data's Emotions.
Join Me
Data's emotions weren't what bothered me. I had a hard time with him being frozen in terror when Geordie had been abducted. I don't think he would have done that. Unless there was something else affecting him. Which I don't think there wasn.
I love the idea of Data having emotions and looking at it through his eyes. That was just the coolest thing. In the end I've said before, it boils down to the chars being unrecognizable. I just figured it out! The comaraderie wasn't there. It was missing in Generations. I couldn't verbalize it until now. There was something missing in that movie and now I know. That was it. The interactions weren't right. They didn't fit. In the show, you got a real sense of loyalty. Of family with the TNG cast of Chars. In my opinion it wasn't there in Generations. The subsequent movies, probably because of Jonathon Frakes, it was most definitely there. It was like visiting an old friend with First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis. In Generations, it was looking at a group of strangers and not knowing how to feel.
I hope that explains it a bit better.
It Completely Does (But I still like it
)
Comraderie? Thats a word? LOL, anyway that it the missing link to make the movie great like all the rest. Everyone had their own situation going on and none of them were interacting with each situation. Example, Picard on ground and Ship in space. No connection. Usually there would be an extra person or radio contact or something but there was no link. It was a very (no offence) poorly constructed or thought out movie.
Star Trek Generations--2293-then they cut to-2371.
Above are the dates, half of the movie is TOS, and the other half is TNG. I think they jump back and forth a little. I can see how that would be confusing...
It's not really just that. The time shifting isn't a big deal. You just don't have the closeness of the TNG crew in Generations that you had in the series. It's almost like seeing a bunch of strangers on screen. It's even that way when they interact with each other. That's what I didn't like about it.
I beleive that maybe bringing back the Enterprise-C would fix that. ENT-C was the buffer between the times and that would solve the time difference between the two series.
I see no explanation why I like it is going to make you like it !!!
It shouldn't.
What did the Enterprise-C Look Like?? ?? ??
This is a computer model of the ENT-C. It is the predacessor of the ENT-D. A mix between Galaxy and Excelsior class designs.
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/screenshots/8/files2/29016_2.jpg
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yup. I knew that one. Even though with all the ships it can get very confusing. At least to me, it can.
Amazingly, I've studied them. All ship names and designs come easy to me. If anyone needs help with them, ask me and I'd be glad to help.
I've studied them too because I might be assistant chief science Officer ;D
Let me give you some advice... Post as much as you can. Also, talk to Kent about what that position might involve since he's the cheif and if we would ever need an asst. later on.
Thank you Steve...
so, what is your favofite movie kent? lemme guess... First Contact because of the borg 8)
You got one of them !!!LOL, The other is IV The Voyage Home...
They are both great ones. Love them. I also loved ST VI.
I like that one because it has a great plot, big mystery, and the U.S.S. Excelsior(Excelsior 1 class)
I have IV, its one of my fav's with the TOS crew. I can watch that one voer and over and over and over and over.......
Ya me too.
My favourite parts in IV are when they are crossing the street in San Fran, and then when Spock is caught swimming with the whales. Those scenes are hilarious.
The Pizza scene, with Spock and Kirk, Do you like Itanian, yes, no ,yes you do, no, yes I do, that was great.LOLLOL
Yeah. Choosing favourite scenes in that movie are like asking you to choose your favourite type of Hershey's candy, in my book. I love them all for various reasons. LOL
My favorite hersheys candy is the caramels.
That's a good comparision of them. Chocolate is sweet and good, like the movies, and some are better than others, like the movies.
Yes CHOCOLATE !!!
HAHA
Everybody must have liked my chocolate analogy. I'm flattered.
It'd be funny is some super Star Trek freak read these posts and created a rumor that Star Trek was now a name of a choclate bar. LOLOLOLOL
We should get together (all of us) and sell them at this site.
Nah...
Have you read the rules? :P
Wait, what rules?
HA,HA,HA,very funny,Chief...
