Anyway, my favorite episode is Tribbles. My least favorite is "And The Children Shall Lead". Ugh, did that one suck.
A lot of them suck,
And the Children Shall Lead, was good. when TOS came out we didn't have any other SciFi so any episode was good.
Point to you, BUT now that we have a bajillion SciFi shows on now, so we have something to judge the" pioneers" as it were. BTW, isn't ST considered a "Space Opera"?
I like the old show, but if you look back on it through the eyes of someone from my age group that has seen TNG DS9 Voyager and Enterprise as well as the other sci fi movies and shows that have come out since then. The original show is very silly. Had some very interesting topics that were handled, but silly at times all the same. IMHO

I think most of TOS would be considered silly to the young people of today, after all the were made from 1960 to 1963, and this is not a putdown....
ya know, TOS is Kinda almost not fictional anymore
I think thats wat makes it so good, you know, it being 40 odd years old. Audiences can relate to it

On the remote control part. I have a magnet that shows a pic of the bridge and under that says "and not one of us can use a VCR"
i grew up watching tos reruns, im glad i did to, because the major underlying message is there is a better tommorow... and to me that encouraged me to find it, and at least try to make star trek a reality in my life time... and im 17, and sure the colors, and the outfits might be a bit hokey now and then... 
but i still love it.. to this day..
My favorite episode would have to be "Arena" it shows that kirk, representing humans, has the ability to take down any enemy that he wants to, yet he won't just because he can.
thats just my opinion though
