Computer, halt turbolift. Redirect. Deck 10, closest destination to Briefing Room 1.

The Door opens and the Commander exits the turbolift. He walks across the corridor to the door to the Briefing Room and enters.

Reporting as ordered, Captain.

The Commander walks over to the table and picks up a glass and fills it with sparkling water. He plops some local fruit into the glass, and notices the sandwich plate. Seeing some strange fillings he picks up a triangle, sniffs, tastes and finds it acceptable, although can't for the life of him figure out what it is.

A bit bland. Something Vulcan?

Adam awoke that morning with a sense of dread within his very soul.  The cold feeling that iced up his back, was the hard fact that this station was officially going operational today.

So much needed to be done yet, too much to satisfy Adam.  However the recently promoted Lieutenant Commander decided it would be a moot point to fight it.  He arrived on the Operations Deck, straightening his shirt.  Nodding at the night shift supervisor, he punched in silently and read today's schedule.  He was to be in the meeting room soon.

Captain's Room

"Sir, you wanted me?"  Adam stood at stiff attention.

Yes Jim, that is a vulcan dish, I've had the messhall cooking up some cultural delights for the delegates, and we get to try them. Enjoy.

Seeing Adam standing there, at attention, reminded me of mititary carriers.

At ease Adam, nice to see you, the meeting will start when everyone is here, there's refreshments on the table.

"Thank you sir, but I'm afraid that I will have to pass.  Food and Drink distract from the mission at hand.  It is thoughtful however."  Adam takes a seat.

Athena stepped off the lift as it halted, taking a quick look about her as she did so. Then gracefully she finished her trip to the briefing room. It had taken her a bit longer than expected to get there but she hadn't made bad time, all things considered.

The doors slid open before her and with a quick nod to all the officers present took her customary seat, waiting for the briefing to begin.

So Captain, I'm guessing you didn't bring us here just to sample the food.

No I Didn't, and all I can say is, we've have been waiting for this day sence the begaining of the Starbase 49 project on earth. Lets leave it at that until the rest of the crew reports in.

OOC: This may take a few days to get everyone to report in, please be patient, thank you.

Rockape hears the Captains call whilst on the holodeck.

Computer, Halt and save simulation Rockape 2620.

As Rockape reaches the door to the briefing room, he realises he has forgotten to change and is still dressed in 21st Century British Combat Uniform, complete with weapons.  He enters the Briefing Room and stands to Attention.

Captain, Sorry for my appearance, I was running a training simulation on the Holodeck and came as soon as I could.

I'm sure that weapon isn't standard issue Lieutenant. Smile Is it a replacement for the (Dustbuster) phaser 2? And those photon-grenades look a bit low-tech...

"My father..."  Adam paused a little bit, remembering the tragedy of his parents deaths.  Still, he pushed through that to speak, "...was a collector.  I can't make a damned thing outta the stuff you're carrying Rockcape, but I'll bet he could have."  He gave the man a smile that made the scar on his eye squeeze tight.

Nicholas Aleron Jr. (not verified)

*Walks into the briefing room...
"Reporting for duty Captain"
*Nods to Mr. Clark*
"Chief."
Grabs one of the vulcan "treats" and spits it out onto his napkin almost the same time as he takes his first bite.
"Vulcan!..., Guess I'll just have some coffee..."
Grabs a cup and stands in a position behind Daniel at the briefing table.

Adam walked over to Verhiz.  "The new Phaser Rifles?  Check the serial Number, if it's the new shipment that I had signed in, then I want them tested so I can do a report on possible cargo tampering during its transport."

OOC:  Malfunctioning Phaser Rifles could be a possible plot point for the secuirty team, just an idea to throw out, but still...

Sorry Sir, it's old 21st Century weaponry.  This (holding up the rifle) is a projectile weapon called an Automatic Rifle.  From memory it's called an L85 A1 or as it was affectionately know, an SA 80.  It can fire projectile rounds in both single shot, and automatic.  As for the photon grenades, I'm sorry to say, they aren't.  They are infact explosives.  The idea is that you prime the grenade, and once armed, by pulling out the pin, you throw it at your enemy.  It's all a bit crude compared to our weaponry, but it does help your weapons skills.  You need to get near to your enemy for the grenade to be effective.  And the rifle actually has something called recoil, which means when you pull the trigger, the projectile goes one way............

*Rockape notices that the Cdr's eyes are glazing over*

Sorry Sir, I get a bit carried away, I just really like working with these crude weapons, they make you assess situations much more.  If you want, I can show you how they work sometime.

Captain,

would you like me to go to my quarters and get changed?

Cheetos, what are they?

Oh what the heck, let me try one.

*rockape tries one*

Strange, they dissolve in your mouth, and have an interesting  :-? flavour.  Still, I've tasted worse.  Thanks for that

Adam sighed, becoming impatient with the group.  "I believe we are here for a mission, are we not?  I don't believe we have time to talk about Cheetos."  He finishes up his writing.
