There has been a change in the way we gather Star Trek news. We no longer store the news items on our own sites, but link directly to the news items on the website it originates from. The links date back as long as sixteen weeks. For older news you can visit the archives of the source websites.
A security update to the system broke the Forums. This has been fixed now.
After almost 10 years of running the Starbase49.com website, it is time to change it's name. The Starbase becomes a Fleet. But we're not abandoning the Starbase of course. It's is taking way too long for me to deliver a feature complete version 7 of this website. That's why I decided to just release this development version for full use by the members.

I'm migrating a lot of data to a new system for a future version of this site. For now the posting of Star Trek headlines has been cancelled until further notice.
Due to a database error, rank and position information has been lost. I'm trying to reconstruct things from a slew of backup data.
Long time no update log for the site, but things did change. As announced in the news post, I changed the way ranks and positions work. This is no new functionality, but more a temporary solution before I release the new site. This way I can keep the records from this site and the new version in sync. Changes:

In preparation of the new website being built at this moment, I ported some of it's functionality back to this version of the site. This means that from now on the rank system has changed.
Ranks are no longer based on the number of posts. Higher ranks can only be received by playing the missions and earning the respect of the senior officers....
